Bidoof's Big Stand is a 7 minute short about a Bidoof who just can't seem to fit in with the others no matter how hard she tries. The short was initially released on January 11, 2022 on the Official Pokémon YouTube Channel as well as Pokémon TV.  This review is just going to be quick at straight to the point, mainly because Bidoof's Big Stand is very short. When I first went into it, I admittedly wasn't expecting much or even to like it, but honestly, I was surprised by how good this short actually is! First off, the animation is really good. It seriously reminds me of those Pokémon TCG advertisements they'd sometimes show on television. I would kill for more Pokémon related content done by Taiko Studios! Everything felt so alive and animated! The Pokémon moves were stunning, Bidoof is freaking ADORABLE and the facial expressions were completely unlike the ones you'd expect to find in the main anime. Fantastic job! The story was another thing I wasn't expecting to enjoy that much, but I was once again surprised. It is an adorable adventure of a Bidoof who wants to find where they belong in the world. It's a heartwarming tale of working hard, following your dreams and friendship! Despite being rejected by not just her kind, but also other Pokémon, Bidoof eventually runs into a Pokémon Trainer who let's Bidoof join his team. However, instead of battling other Pokémon, Bidoof is tasked with cutting down shrubbery and breaking boulders. Bidoof tries and tries to help out as much as she can, but after a while, she gets bored, unhappy with the tasks she has been told to do. Suddenly, Bidoof is sent out during a Pokémon League battle; this is her time to shine! It's a tough battle for Bidoof, but she eventually pulls through and wins the battle. Ecstatic over her victory, Bidoof has finally found her place and is now happy!  Overall, there is very little to dislike about the show, it's just too cute! I will say however that I didn't really like the absence of some sound effects and it felt quite off at times. For some scenes it felt almost empty with the lack of sounds. That is really only a minor nitpick as this short is absolutely great and I'd highly recommend you watch it! But then again, that's all it really is; a short. Outside of its message and visuals, there is admittedly a lack of proper substance. It's small, yes, but it still never fails to warm you and your heart with its enduring charm! You can watch it over and over again and it will never get old. I give 'Bidoof's Big Stand' a 6.5/10 Thanks for reading and I hope you found this helpful!
